Château Féret-Lambert - Anglais

Château Féret-Lambert is located in the wine-producing commune of Grézillac in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers area, 32km east of Bordeaux.

The estate has been in the Féret family for four generations. In 1996, Henri Féret bought it and with his brother-in-law Olivier Sulzer, a winegrower in Saint-Emilion, decided to revive the vineyard and its terroir.

We produce exclusively red wine in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation. Today, there are 20 hectares under vine with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil is limestone-clay that contains fossilized starfish

The Château Féret-Lambert team is young, made up of Valérie and Henri Féret, Olivier Sulzer, Romuald Espagnet and Pascal Poussevin, our consulting oenologist. Our goal is to produce, throughout the property, a wine worthy of the Bordeaux name: elegant, fruity and balanced.

Château Féret-Lambert

Character : A wine reflecting the perfect expression of Merlot aromas, ripened on the clay-limestone plateaux of Libournais.

Vineyard : 23 hectares, planted with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Density of 5,500 feet per hectare.

Terroir : Clay and limestone plateaus and coasts on limestone type rock with asteria. Presence of many fossilized corals, very rich in trace elements.
Cultivation methods Double Guyot pruning, disbudding in spring with removal of all buds known as "against buds". Manual lifting and leaf stripping of all our vines. Soils worked superficially to avoid raising too much limestone. Reasoned vineyard treatment. Green harvest if necessary, manual harvest.

Vinification : Destemming, then double sorting of the grapes. Cold maceration for optimal extraction of fruit aromas. Fermentation in small stainless steel tanks and thermo-regulated concrete in order to respect our terroirs and the different maturities of our grape varieties. Punching extraction and reassembly. After fermentation and hot maceration, the wines are sold with their fine lees. One part carries out the malolactic fermentation in new barrels.

Aging : 15 months in French oak barrels (30% new), in our natural limestone quarries located under our vineyards. Bottling and storage at the château
